Gang leader caught moving coke, ganja

By Susan Mohammed - A reputed gang leader was arrested on Wednesday night for alleged having over $2 million worth in cocaine and marijuana.


The suspect, of Enterrpise, Chaguanas, was arrested along with four other men while allegedly taking the drugs out of a house in Cunupia.

The arrests came after members of the Organised Crime Narcotics and Firearm Bureau (OCNFB) and Inter-Agency Task Force had kept the house at Southern Main Road under surveillance.

According to police, at around 10 a.m. the joint team of officers observed the five suspects emerging from the house carrying bags and about enter a van and two other vehicles.

Police said the men were confronted, and officers allegedly found over 100 blocks of cocaine and marijuana.

The suspects were taken into police custody and taken to a police station in the northern police division.
